It might seem far stretched to think this is possible in an epidemically diseased society, and where chronic symptoms have been accepted as the new normal. But that's exactly what I so passionately defend every day. I want you to know that no matter how you're feeling today, no matter what symptoms you're facing, you can change that by getting back to a way of living that supports your body's inner ability to thrive. Vigorous living and long-term vitality are not just for the 1% of genetically blessed people.
I know, that deep down, you believe you can get back to that place too. To a place of effortless vibrancy, energy, creativity, focus...it's no coincidence that you're here, reading this.
But before we start talking about how you can transform into the best version of yourself, let me answer what you came here to find...
Sounds cheesy or even cliché, but medicine (the actual purpose of it - helping individuals gain back their health and vitality), has been my passion and guide throughout all my life choices.
Growing up, I knew of only one way to help people with their health... to become a medical doctor. However, my curiosity brought me to the 'behind the scenes' of medical practice - Scientific Research. Early on in my studies, I understood that ground-breaking medical techniques and treatments would not exist if it wasn't for the hard work of research scientists and their labs. So just like that, I found more purpose to be part of that movement. For 9 years of my life I studied reproductive disorders like infertility, and potential avenues for cancer treatment.
During my doctoral studies in cancer research, I was faced with the thought that in almost a decade of studying different areas of Western Medicine, I had never heard of Cancer Prevention. Treatment had always been at the forefront of my career. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Why not help people prevent cancer instead of treating it? Seems more productive no? That was the very beginning of the long, exciting road that brought me to where I am today. Here's how that road looked like in a nutshell:
This might come as a surprise, but the more I went through "the diving deep phase" the more I realized that what I thought was "healthy", wasn't even close to the definition which forced me to face my own health issues.
To give you some context, I was considered a healthy mid-twenties young woman by my own family doctor. Nevertheless, I was pre-diabetic, had an overactive thyroid, painful cystic acne, ovarian cysts, asthma, major sleep problems (waking up 10+ times a night), joint pain and muscle soreness every morning, extreme brain fog (couldn't remember things I read the day before).
I think you get it. It was bad.
But my blood work was not showing anything "alarming" - said the doctor...BIG red flag there.
Nevertheless, the point is not to criticize the medical system, but to open your eyes to your intuition. If you sense something is wrong with your health because you don't feel well, don't let someone tell you "everything is fine" because your blood work looks normal.
As it turns out, we have a lot of control over our bodies and our genes, and we can change our healthy significantly with lifestyle only (*mic-drop*).
It was not until I decided to question every single choice of my lifestyle, and why I was doing it, that things started falling into place and health started coming back to me BIG TIME.
You can only imagine how that impacted my life... it felt almost like a miracle.
I had my energy back. I could think clearly. I could wake up early and not need coffee to think.
It was liberating. Like I left a prison and I was free.
You already know I was getting all my energy back and feeling generally great when I was going through my health transformation.
I was feeling fantastic in ways that I couldn't even remember were possible, and so were my clients.
BUT while going through it, I came to an astonishing conclusion.
With the help of Dr. Alissa Vitti's work, I quickly came to the understanding that the health advice I was following - nutrition, exercise, morning routines - it was ALL based on the male body.
And when I reflected back on the results my females clients were having versus my male clients, it all became VERY clear to me.
What I would witness is that the same health advice would create really quick results for men, and much slower results for women. But that's not all. While men would continue to improve the more they applied, women would plateau and would stop feeling like what they were doing was working.
And when I would reflect on my own health journey, I would immediately think about those 2 weeks every moth where I had a lot more negative talk because I felt like I wasn't nailing my lifesyle choices.
It turns out...they weren't perfectly made for my body!
I think you can guess what happened next.
I put my hands to work and I went through ALL the women-centered health studies.
Let's just say that there's a whole new world for us out here.
A way for us to have more ease, joy, and flow in all areas of our lives, and it's all based on our monthly hormonal cycle.
There is a female-centered framework that we have to re-learn.
And it works (of course) because it respects the body we have and the fluctuations we are experiencing.
It optimizes our lifestyle based on the hormonal changes we go through, making it easy to experience less stress and more joy.
It feels like the puzzle pieces fitting together.
As a woman, it's your right to feel this way.
You deserve to know what having ease with your body feels like.
So, I made it my mission to create a program JUST for women, which I named The Feminine Edge, using only female-based studies and clinically relevant data, to help all women with a menstrual cycle gain back control of their body and experience not only pain-free and PMS-free cycles, but also more ease and pleasure in their lives.
