It might seem far stretched to think this is possible in an epidemically diseased society, and where chronic symptoms have been accepted as the new normal. But that's exactly what I so passionately defend every day. I want you to know that no matter how you're feeling today, no matter what symptoms you're facing, you can change that by getting back to a way of living that supports your body's inner ability to thrive. Vigorous living and long-term vitality are not just for the 1% of genetically blessed people.
I know, that deep down, you believe you can get back to that place too. To a place of effortless vibrancy, energy, creativity, focus...it's no coincidence that you're here, reading this.
But before we start talking about how you can transform into the best version of yourself, let me answer what you came here to find...
Sounds cheesy or even cliché, but medicine (the actual purpose of it - helping individuals gain back their health and vitality), has been my passion and guide throughout all my life choices.
Growing up, I knew of one way to help people. To become a medical doctor. However, my curiosity brought me to the other side of the coin. The 'behind the scenes' of medical practice - scientific research. Early on in my studies, I understood that ground-breaking medical techniques and treatments would not exist if it wasn't for the hard work of research scientists over the years. So just like that, I decided to be part of that movement. Specifically, the cancer research movement.
During my doctoral studies in cancer research, I was faced with the thought that in almost a decade of studying different areas of Western Medicine, I had never heard of cancer prevention. Treatment of disease had always been at the forefront of my career. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Why not help people prevent cancer instead of treating it? That was the very beginning of the long, exciting road that brought me to where I am today. Here's how that road looked like in a nutshell:
This might come as a surprise, but the more I went through "the diving deep phase" the more I realized that what I thought was "healthy", wasn't even close to the definition, which forced me to take a deeper look into my own health.
To give you some context, I was considered a healthy, mid-twenties, young woman by my own family doctor. Nevertheless, I was pre-diabetic, had an overactive thyroid, painful cystic acne, ovarian cysts, asthma (told to me it was genetic), major sleep problems (waking up 10+ times a night), joint pain and muscle soreness every morning, daily fatigue, extreme brain fog (couldn't remember anything I read from the day before)... I think you get it. It was bad. But my blood work was not showing anything "alarming" - big red flag there.
Nevertheless, the point here is not to criticize the medical system, but to open your eyes to your intuition. If you sense something is wrong with your health because you don't feel well, don't let someone tell you "everything is fine" because your blood work looks normal.
As it turns out, we have a lot of control over our bodies and our genes, and we can change our healthy significantly with lifestyle only (*mic-drop*).
It was not until I decided to question every single choice of my lifestyle, and why I was doing it, that things started falling into place and health started coming back to me BIG TIME. The asthma I was told was genetic...GONE. The cystic acne and ovarian cysts I was told I had to deal with for the rest of my life...GONE. The crappy joint pain that would annoyingly pinch me in the gym...GONE. GONE. GONE GONE.
You can only imagine how that reflected on my day-to-day... it felt almost magical. The energy I started having, the focus I could maintain, the number of things I could get done... I started feeling better than I ever felt.
I'm sure you're thinking - what do you mean by "woman awakening"?
Let me explain - as this was a big moment for me in my health journey as a woman.
You already know that I was getting all my energy back and feeling generally great when I was going through my health transformation. I was feeling fantastic in ways that I couldn't even remember were possible.
But while going through it, I came to an astonishing conclusion. With the help of Dr. Alissa Vitti's work, I quickly came to the understanding that our health tips, our health advice, our nutrition and exercise programs...they are mostly based on male-centered health research.
Meaning, research that concluded what would work best for your health....if you're a male.
You see, this type of research is great...we need more of it...but there's a big BUT here.
I'm not male and neither is 49.58% of the world population (2021 stats). Every day, we're given advice that DOES NOT acknowledge the way our female body works.
Because of that, a lot of us never get to feel energized, and at ease with our bodies.
So why should I put any effort and energy into trying something that wasn't meant to work for me?
So I can continue to feel that no matter what I try, nothing seems to work for me?
No, thanks! I'm not about this one-sided culture were facing.
So I put my hands to work and I went through the women-centered health studies.
Let's just say that there's a whole new world for us out here: a way for us to have more ease, joy, and flow in all areas of our lives
A female-centered framework to living and working.
IT'S INCREDIBLE. And it works. The benefits I was experiencing that I described above, they all up-leveled. It felt like the puzzle pieces finally fit.
I could do more, stress less, have more joy, and feel greater than ever.
And you can experience this too. No...let's rephrase...you MUST! As a woman, it's your right to feel this way. You deserve to know what having ease with your body feels like.
So, I made it my mission to bring it all into:The Feminine Edge Program: A program for women to gain back control of their body, get their vitality back and stop struggling with painful periods and PMS. Make each month of their cycle the best it can be.
